Daniele Ape has a background in Environmental Sciences. Studies completed with a post-graduate Master in Risk Assessment and Risk Analysis for chemicals.
After few years of experience in the private sector (chemical regulatory consultancy) Daniele Ape joined the European Chemical Agency in 2009, holding the positon of Scientific Officer. He has worked on many different aspects related to the implementation of EU chemicals legislation, in particular REACH and CLP (e.g. chemical safety assessment, exposure scenarios, waste and recovery substances, downstream users obligations, data sharing, SDSs). The main areas of work cover interpretation of the legal text, provision of guidance and support to industry and Authorities and development of IT tools. Daniele Ape works now in the Team in charge of the implementation of Annex VIII to CLP, focusing in particular on the regulatory aspects.
